“GOOD FRIENDS, GOOD BOOKS, AND A SLEEPY CONSCIENCE; THIS IS THE REAL LIFE ''
pharmacy student///book lover///aspiring novelist//introvert///18///pluviophile///Too many thoughts so I write poetry.
Photography & pizza are awesome.
Books are better.
Mini Detox of the outside - Get up, put your phone/tablet/laptop etc down and put them away, out of sight. Don’t worry I won’t ask you to abandon your devices for a 7 days or 2 weeks. Just 3-4 hours. You will survive, I assure you Tidy your surroundings and de-clutter. Change your bedsheets if you need to. Throw out things you’ve been hoarding subconsciously. The aim of these tasks. It’s simple
You need to LET GO to allow room for the NEW. (literally AND metaphorically speaking)
A quiet place - depending on your preference, your choice of atmosphere will vary. For pluviophiles I suggest a soundtrack of endless rain, for those who revel in a busy cafe-esque atmosphere, a soundtrack of quiet chatter and clattering coffee cups etc. The common underlining factor must be a quiet place away from others. Just you and your thoughts. Don’t be afraid to be alone for a while.
A pile of books/your favourite journal/a sketch pad/etc. - it’s time to create, discover. It’s all about reaching new dimensions, pulling out the writer, the artist, the poet, the ———- that you want to be. Finding your passion and goal is half the battle. Perfecting your craft, however is a whole new ball game. Unless you’re ready to take that leap and dare to make new strides you’ll be stuck in one place watching opportunities pass you by. Don’t mistake a ‘’lack of opportunities’’ as life’s karma or bad luck.
A dash of confidence, a handful of determination and a spoonful of hope. Change is scary for everyone. As humans natural instincts provide us with habitual tendencies allowing us to get a little too comfortable with being comfortable. Don’t GIVE UP. Every time you stretch that emotional fabric and try to challenge yourself it gets easier and is less daunting each and every time.
Beverages - Working hard is never efficient on an empty stomach. I love Earl Grey’s tea but I’m starting to venture out into green teas. Lemon and camomile is my favourite. Coffee is good too :)
